Jim Stokely Scholarship

The Jim Stokley Scholarship will be awarded to a post secondary student that shows the same characteristics Jim himself valued. It will not simply go to the best student, but the one with the biggest heart.

Donations to the Jim Stokley Scholarship fund can be made by contacting Bayfest Festival of the Performing Arts at 519-337-4474 or by email at info@sarniabayfest.com

Johnsonville Brats

"Our mission at Rogers Bayfest is to promote, preserve and perpetuate arts and cultural activities. Keeping in line with our mission we are introducing the new scholarship; to carry on and help spread art and entertainment," says Michele Stokley, Executive Director of Rogers Bayfest.

During the two weeks of Rogers Bayfest, Miss Shelly, one of Johnsonville's Big Taste Grills™, pulled in to serve up thousands of sausages to hungry concert goers with $1.00 of every sale going to support the new Scholarship.

"Most people do not know that Bayfest is a not-for-profit charity," says Stokley. "With the introduction of this scholarship we are hoping Bayfest fans will start recognizing Bayfest not only for its great summer performances, but as a charity to create a better understanding of the arts year round."

Collectible Yellow Hats

To help raise money for the new Jim Stokley scholarship over 1200 collectible yellow Bayfest hats were sold. In years past Jim could be seen each year on the Bayfest grounds in his yellow Bayfest ball cap, which quickly became a signature of his. "If you ever needed to find Jim all you had to do was ask anyone if they had seen a guy with a yellow ball cap on," says Paul Smith, a long time Bayfest employee.

All proceeds generated from the sale of the yellow hat go directly to the new scholarship. The collectible hats are available at Stokes Bay, by calling 519-344-4474 or you can order online and have them delivered to the Guest Services Desk at Lambton Mall.
