Bayfest Artist Showcase

NEW Artist Showcase on Sarnia Bay

Rogers Bayfest introduces a brand new element to the largest festival in South-western Ontario, the artist showcase will not only include FREE entertainment but will have a little something for everyone. Local sculptors, to painters, to photographers and jewellery makers will spread along the waterfront from 12pm-5pm each day of the festival. We invite you to come down and take a walk along one of Sarnia-Lambton's most beautiful boardwalks.

MUSICIANS/BUSKERS

Jon Ferwerda: Musician, basement producer and song writer, Jon Ferwerda plays chill songs that you won't soon forget. Has been playing guitar for 14 years and will serenade us with his acoustic show.

Joel Morningstar: The group Truckstop Super Friends is a local band with a mellow acoustic sound. Their debut album "Here's to you" features 14 original, catchy, smooth flowing tracks packed full of song-writing emotion. Local commercial and college radio have begun to support them as well.

Frank Seager: A local musician from Sarnia who also teaches at Van Goozen Music. He has written, covered and performed many acoustic tunes in most of the bars in town. His tunes and covers are in the folk-singer/song writer tradition. He characterises his music as easy listening and captivating.

Adam Lajoie: An 18-year-old local guitarist with tons of talent. He does guitar/electric solo guitar. Adam classifies his style as indie.

Tyson Chad: Tyson is part of a band named Raised with Wolfs. It is a 5 piece band and they have been together for few years. The band classifies themselves as a Blues/ Rock band but occasionally they perform some pop and a variety of other different genres.

Derek Barneveld: Derek is part of a 4 man rockin' acoustic electric band named Sit. The band has been together for five years and claims to have lots of great material.

ENTERTAINERS

Lorenzo: Famous face painter Lorenzo is well seasoned in performing at festivals. He has even painted faces for Disney! He has worked for many charities in the past and has also worked with Michael Jackson, Dolly Parton, and Dollywood, just to name a few. He has an international entertainment licence from New York City, where he has face painted in Central Park.

The Lawrence House Centre for the Arts: Sarnia-based entertainers will include stilt walkers.

ARTISTS

George Stoesser: George is a painter as well as a song writer and poet from Sarnia. His style is eclectic and ranges from abstract designs to life drawings and landscape photography.

Jane Labarre: From Corunna and makes Glass pendants

Colleen McCarthy: From Sarnia and makes bead/gemstone jewellery as well as framed pictures of musicians

Erica Will and Nicole Rand: These girls are from Sarnia-Lambton hand-make their own collection of jewellery and hemp jewellery. They will also be styling people's hair with hemp.

Iaian Greenson: A Sarnia native, music is his aeroplane and he uses music to influence his artwork.

William Clawson: Hailing from Bright's Grove, in the Sarnia-Lambton region and does sculpting, acrylic paintings and mixed media

Chloe Milne: From Sarnia and her artwork is a wide range of mainly outdoor photography.

Brendan Schieman: Residing in Corunna and is most notable for doing artwork for bands. In his artwork he uses the stippling technique.

Tavia Pasqualucci: From Bright's Grove and does wirework and bead sculptures

Karen Pasqualucci: From Bright's Grove and does photography, acrylics, collages with glass beads, wirework and beadwork

Angela-Lloyd Briggs: Native of Strathroy and makes animal paintings as well as photography of animals

Jim Wynne: From Sarnia-Lambton and his artwork includes photography, printmaking and illustrating

Valerie D. Rempel: From Sarnia-Lambton and does fine art photography

Hailey McHarg: Hailey is from Brights Grove and she specializes in conceptual photography and portraiture. She captures performers, musicians and artists in live settings, on stage and in-studio. She takes auditory elements of a performance and frames them in a one dimensional image. She has created and currently owns Hailey McHarg Photography, which is a new business based out of downtown Sarnia.

Cathy Schmidt: Designs and makes jewellery. Her art caters mostly to children but is also appealing to adults. She is from Carleton Place.

Jody Kelly: Handmade jewellery and sale of Van Scott Tee shirts and CD’s. Jody is from London Ontario.

Olivia Kitala: Olivia paints portraits of musicians and fans looking to capture their expressions and emotions. She tries to capture the passion of music seen on their faces. Her paintings are described to be vibrant colors that bring the canvas to life. She is from North York

Amber Gordon Hewson: From London Ontario, Amber makes artwork from a variety of mediums which are inspired by her favourite music legends. She describes her work to be dark or colourful, edgy and charismatic.

Jason Bellchamber: He is a custom silversmith from London. He specialises in making rings. He plays music while he works. His designs are Celtic/Medieval artifacts to Imperial Dragons. He has been to many festivals.

Colleen Thibert: From Kingsville and does handmade fabric accessories which include bags, wallets, pouches, clothing. She also does hand made jewellery including necklaces, earrings, rings, etc.
